The Beginning

This is the journey of faith. I do not know where it will lead and I pray for the Holy Spirit for guidance.

The beginning of the journey began with a 3:30 am discussion about God around a dining room table, a coincidently choosing of the exact same chapter of Romans 12 by two people with no previous communication and a person realizing he had dreamed of this conversation a year or two earlier. This night was on Easter day 2008.

A few weeks ago, I saw God in a dream, a massive ball of white light while walking on the beach with my friend and my brother. I was overcome by strength as I became conscious of my dream. The conclusion was rather confusing with an image of me punching the head of a person in a skeleton constume.

Through discussion I later understand the I was fighting death and Satan in the dream. This has led to a deeper seeking of the Holy Spirit and so on this night 3/24/08 one day after celebrating the resurrection, the journey begins.

Derrick, You have always had inner strength, sometimes in life we forget that we do, but God comes to us and remind us that we do have strength and faith in ourselves to do the right thing.

I'm wondering if you have resolved your dream completely yet. I'm not a dream analyst, but I've come to believe that fighting death and Satan has something to do with you fighting off spritual death with
God's word.

It could be God, in His wonderful way, connecting with you, to make what you had submerged in your unconcious, and bringing it out into your concious state.

For weeks and probably months now, you've been keeping God's word closer to your heart and in dealing with life. Everyday we face people, situations, and thoughts that are not Christ-like. I know you've been faithful to God, and maybe God is showing you how much He loves you by revealing to you that you are in His care and that you should continue to lean on Him again and again when certain situations come up.

Of course we know Satan is evil but his power is so very weak next to God. Your relationship with Jesus/God seem to have grown stronger in the last couple of years, and Satan will take his opportunity to try to trip you up when he can. Satan puts more of his efforts in deceiving those who grow closer and closest to Jesus because Satan doesn't need to worry about those who don't know Him or are not as knowledgeable about God's word. Our sinful nature is already weak, and all Satan needs to do is tempt us. Jesus/God is everything to you and you better believe Satan is going to try to rattle things up. It's clear to me that God is assuring you that He will fight the spiritual battles through you and that He is not leaving you alone especially when you call on Him to guide/help you. I'd want God to do my battles anytime.

Take a look at Ephesians 6:10-20.
